Hi
What do yo write on your first website that you’ve dreamt about since 1997?
Well I’m Martin from Sweden and I’m about to start my most epic road trip ever. I’m driving from Sweden to India via Europe, turkey, Iran, Pakistan and then finally India, and then driving back the same rout.
How did I come up with this idé you wonder?
It’s all my friend Elins fault!
I’m guesstimating it was around 2008-2009 when she found an article online about som guys that was organizing a rally from London, England to Ulan Bator, Mongolia, called “the Mongol rally” (if you haven’t heard about it you should google it), in short you’re suppose to take a piece of shit car with maximum a 1L engine and make your way from England to Mongolia ( today the finish line has moved to UlanUde, Russia just north of the Mongolian border). The only thing set by the organizers is the start and finish line, the route is up to you. It’s also not about getting first, it’s about camaraderie, having an adventure, go outside your comfort zone and rasing money for a charity of your chiose. So obviously that sounded like a great idé to me!
I dreamt to do that trip for several years and in November 2014 I called my mate Per and said “next year we’re driving to Mongolia!” his response was “ohh no we’re not”, and that kind of ended that conversation. I was a bit bummed but thought that I’ll do it alone then. But the next day Per called me up and said “hell yes we are!”. So there and then 6 months of overplaning started. In July 2015 we had our car and papers in order and was about to leave when I realized that I hade lost my passport, so then I spent 2 nervreckin hours tearing my house up side down trying to find it. Witch I finally did. My newly cleaned house now looked like a mess, but I left I like that because I was going on an ADVENTURE! It took us 6 weeks, going 27,000km throu 21 country’s.

This is our Renault Kangoo that we did the rally in.
When I got home I felt that I was in the wrong place and shouldn’t have stopped traveling. So I found a new rout to drive, from Sweden to India. And 2019 is the year it will hapen! This time I will take my time and really see the country’s I’m driving thru. I will end the journey when I feel I’m done traveling.
